Last Saturday, we took two special “colleagues” to a unique event. Plug and Play China’s Greater Bay Area International Innovation Center, in partnership with Kirin Elite Club and Bank of China, jointly launched the “GTN | Tech-Match Technology Innovation Accelerator Showcase Day.” Under the theme of “Breaking Boundaries, Co-creation,” the event brought together industry, capital, and technology innovation.
Our two “colleagues” have a special title: “Silicon-Based Assistants.” They aren’t ordinary people—they’re robots:
One is a latte art robot capable of “spraying and printing” designs on coffee;
The other is a guide robot equipped with navigation and conversational capabilities—essentially a corporate receptionist.
Some say this is a dialogue about industry, capital, and technology.
But we believe it’s actually a preview of what life in the future might look like.

1. ONE
A Robot Brings More Than Just a Cup of Coffee

What appears to be an ordinary cup of coffee is actually a creation brought to life by robotic arms, algorithms, and design.
Amid the broader questions of “how to implement industrial applications” and “how to commercialize technology,” a cup of coffee brewed by a robot offers a lighthearted illustration:
The true value of technology lies not in its cold, detached existence within a laboratory, but in its ability to be served at the table and truly become part of our daily lives.

2. TWO
The Path the Robot Has Taken

It moves seamlessly through the event venue, guiding guests, introducing program segments, and interacting effortlessly with people.
Behind this lies more than just a technical showcase; it offers another insight:
In the future, a company’s “front desk” may not be a single position, but rather a system—an intelligent assistant capable of interacting, learning, and seamlessly connecting upstream and downstream processes.

3. THREE
Breaking Boundaries and Symbiosis—More Than Just a Slogan

Against the backdrop of a capital winter and industrial transformation, the questions on everyone’s mind are often:
How can technology be put into practice? How can products reach the market? How can investors identify truly valuable innovations?
We believe the answer may lie in the very emergence of “robots”:
• They serve not only as a showcase for technological achievements but also as a convergence point for industrial applications.
• It transforms abstract concepts like “algorithms, iterations, and capital logic” into tangible, hands-on experiences.
• It even makes the atmosphere of an event feel more like a “futuristic experiment.”

So, when you’re tasting coffee brewed by a robot or chatting with one at the event, you’re actually taking part in a small experiment in “cross-boundary symbiosis”:
